Concrete Structures AS (CS) is a consulting engineering company founded in October 2010 by Kåre O. Hæreid and Knut Bidne, both of whom have extensive experience in large offshore concrete projects, floating and fixed structures in the North Sea and internationally, as well as land-based industrial and transportation projects. In 2011, Aker Solutions (formerly Kværner) became a co-owner of the company and has since been a major client. Half of the company is owned by its employees. Today, the company has employees with extensive experience in both marine and land-based projects. The business includes concept development, design, and construction management of marine structures, industrial facilities, transportation infrastructure, and commercial buildings. In recent years, CS has been heavily involved in the concept development of floating fish farming facilities in concrete, both closed for inshore use and open facilities for more exposed and Arctic areas. CS is now working to strengthen its staffing to create a broader platform for the management and execution of marine and land-based projects.
