Graduated engineer (MSc.) from NTNU Trondheim in 1983. Employed with Dr.techn. Olav Olsen a.s. in the periods 1984-1997 and 2003-2011. Employed with Umoe Oil & Gas and ABB Offshore Systems AS in the period 1997 – 2003.

Jan Kristian has experience as a group leader, project design manager (discipline lead) and project manager from a number of offshore concrete projects – in all project phases from platform development studies to the construction project.
He has been study manager for Kværner Concrete Solutions in several projects.

He has 34 years of experience from offshore oil & gas industry related projects. Field of work has been structural engineering, platform sizing & conceptual design, lead engineer for various topside hull forms/topside substructures and project management for conceptual platform studies and floater technology development projects
